School Annual Day, "Reminiscence: Ek Anokhi Dharohar", at St. Paul’s Co-Ed School, Anandnagar, Bhopal, offered a vibrant celebration of India's rich cultural and social heritage. The school courtyard, illuminated with colourful lights, set the stage for a truly memorable event. Chief Guest, Mr. Harinarayanachari Mishra, Police Commissioner of Bhopal, along with Special Guest, Mr. Narendra Kumar Ahirwar, District Education Officer, and Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr Babu John CMI, Secretary, CMI Board of Education, were warmly welcomed. Accompanied by Fr Jaison, Principal, Fr Sebastian, Manager, and Fr Thomas, Vice Principal, they inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.
The prayer song composed by Ms Anita Pathodiya, music teacher was sung by the school choir created a spiritual ambience. The tiny tots of Kinder Garten presented a delightful welcome song. Fr Jaison, Principal welcomed and honoured the dignitaries by giving a sapling, shawl and a memento. Chief Guest honoured Fr Limson P, Director, Christ Institute of Media and Science for his creative direction of dance drama.
The programme unfolded a captivating story about the life of a grandfather and his grandson, weaving together themes of cultural heritage, respect for elders, spirituality, patriotism, and moral values. The skit script was prepared by Fr Jaison and guided by a few language expert teachers. The audience was enthralled by the spectacular performances, including Garba, Sufi songs, and colourful traditional dances. The importance of books in the age of technology was highlighted through the segment "Books Are Telling Us Something."
A key highlight of the event was an oath to make Bhopal a cleaner city, alongside a powerful message about planting "Ek Ped Maa ke Naam-one tree in the name of mother" to preserve the green earth. Students took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of environmental protection, while also stirring patriotic feelings with their performances.
Teachers also contributed to the programme, showcasing their talents in an inspiring presentation. The programme culminated in an explosive rock band performance by the alumni of our school, followed by a grand finale that energized the audience.
Chief Guest, Mr. Mishra, Commissioner of Police praised the school’s efforts in showcasing the diverse talents of its students beyond academics. Master of Ceremonies were Ms Anshika Anoop XII D, Ms Tanu Gurjar XI D and Mr Suyash IX A. Ms Shreya Shukla, School President, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests, parents, participants, well-wishers and the entire fraternity for their constant support and encouragement. She also thanked the management for their selfless dedication and commitment for the social change through education.
This unique blend of music, dance, drama, and art not only showcased the students' creativity but also conveyed important messages on water conservation, environmental protection, and values like sharing, caring, discipline, and life skills. The annual function proved to be an enriching experience for all, combining cultural celebration with meaningful awareness.
